Overview
The MX4 is the smallest surface mount speaker in Quest's MX Series. It is built for jobs where the speaker needs to all but disappear: under eaves at a cafe, along a boardroom wall, in a retail fit-out or around a church foyer. A 4 inch woofer and 1 inch dome tweeter sit in a low profile injection moulded ASA enclosure with a powder coated aluminium grille, and the whole thing measures 250 x 150 x 172 mm and weighs 2.6 kg.
Like the rest of the MX surface range it is switchable between 16 ohm and 70V/100V operation, with 100V taps at 4, 8, 15 and 30 W. That makes it easy to run a dozen of them on a single 100V line for background music, or to drive a pair from a small low impedance amplifier in a meeting room. The cabinet is rated IP55 out of the box and IP65 with the included weatherproof connector cover, so it is fine outdoors under cover or in the weather.
The UB1X aim-and-clamp wall bracket is included, and the UB2X ceiling bracket is available separately. The MX4 is voiced to match the MX4C ceiling speaker and MX4P pendant, so a mixed install sounds consistent. Available in black (RAL 9004) or white (RAL 9003); the white version may be priced differently.
