Overview
The MX6CPOE is the networked version of Quest's MX6C in-ceiling speaker. It has a Class D amplifier built in and takes audio, power and control over a single Ethernet cable using Dante or AES67, with power from an IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 PoE switch delivering up to 90 W. For meeting rooms, lecture theatres, classrooms, boardrooms and open plan offices it removes the amplifier rack and the speaker cable runs altogether: one network drop per zone and you are done.
Two Euroblock outputs on the back can on one MX6CPOE drive up to three passive MX6C ceiling speakers, and the unit handles two independent Dante streams. That means a four speaker room can run from a single PoE port, with zoning and routing managed in Dante Controller or from your DSP rather than by re-pulling cable. Status LEDs for Dante sync, control and errors plus PoE class indicators make commissioning simple from a ladder.
Acoustically it is the same 6 inch woofer and 1 inch dome tweeter as the MX6C, with 130 degree conical coverage and a rimless magnetic grille in black or white, so it blends into a ceiling full of standard MX6C units. The aluminium back can is fire resistant. The QRAILKIT6 ceiling tile kit and LTMXC accessory are available for grid ceilings. Both colours are listed here; the white version may be priced differently.
