Overview
The DiGiCo D2-Rack is a 9U stage rack with 48 mic inputs and 16 line outputs as standard, connected to the console over MADI. This version (part X-D2-AN-C) uses DiGiCo's Cat5e MADI connection, so the run from stage to front of house is a lightweight Cat5e or Cat6 cable instead of a copper multicore.
There are two MADI ports. At 48 kHz the rack can be shared between two SD Series consoles or used to feed a digital split for recording; at 96 kHz the two ports combine into a single 96 kHz link with no reduction in I/O. Two spare slots take line out or AES modules to lift the output count to 32. Dual redundant power supplies are standard, with front panel LED indicators and an SD style rack menu for configuration. It suits touring, hire companies, festivals and larger venues running DiGiCo SD Series consoles. Our listing includes a 75 m Cat6 cable for the console link.

Forefront Tip
Always carry a second tested Cat5e or Cat6 cable on the reel. When the console has two MADI ports free, run both so you have a backup path at 48 kHz, and label each end so the crew can patch it straight back after load out. For DMI equipped hosts such as the Orange Box, DiGiCo lists the DMI-MADI-C card for D-Rack and D2-Rack connection.
