Overview
The Qi12E is the weatherproof version of the Qi12 for outdoor stages, rooftop venues, resort pool decks, outdoor school assembly areas, sports grounds and large alfresco dining spaces that need high output and controlled coverage. It keeps the Qi12's 1.4 inch compression driver on a rotatable 80 x 50 degree horn, the 12 inch woofer and the bi-amp/passive switch, so the sound and the setup are the same as the indoor model.
What changes is the build. The marine plywood cabinet is coated inside and out with a marine-grade UV resistant polyurea, and every external fastener and the grille mesh are stainless steel, giving an IP55 rating. Output is 127.2 dB maximum SPL from 300 W RMS at 8 ohm with response down to 60 Hz, which is plenty for live music outdoors when paired with a subwoofer under cover.
It uses the same HBRQi12 horizontal and VBRQi12 vertical brackets as the Qi12, finished in matching black or white, and is designed to run from Quest QXD amplifiers with their DSP presets. At 24.8 kg it is a two-person lift onto the bracket, so plan the rigging. Available in black (RAL 9004) or white (RAL 9003); the white version is priced differently, so check the variant selector.
