Overview
The dLive S5000 is the touring workhorse of the S Class range: 28 faders in two bays, twin 12 inch touchscreens and dedicated preamp and filter controls. S Class surfaces add the redundancy features a touring rig needs: dual gigaACE ports for a redundant link to a DM MixRack that switches over without dropping audio, a dual redundant DX port, and a hot swappable PSU with a slot for a second supply.
Local I/O is larger than the C Class, with 8 in, 8 out and AES3, and there are two I/O ports so the surface can carry its own Dante and Waves cards for recording and plug-ins at FOH.
Highlights
- 28 faders over 6 layers, twin 12 inch touchscreens
- Dual redundant gigaACE link to the MixRack
- Hot swappable PSU, optional second MPS-16 supply
- 8 mic/line in, 8 line out, 2 AES3 in, 3 AES3 out
- 2 x 128 channel I/O ports
- 26 assignable SoftKeys and 6 rotaries
- Dual redundant DX expander port
Compatibility
Works with every dLive MixRack: CDM32, CDM48, CDM64 (C Class) and DM0, DM32, DM48, DM64 (S Class), including the current U versions with RackUltra FX fitted. One Cat5e gigaACE cable carries 96 kHz audio and control up to 100 metres. Multi Surface mode runs up to 4 surfaces on a DM MixRack or 2 on a CDM MixRack.
- Two I/O ports for any mix of: M-DL-DANT64-AX, M-DL-DANT128-AX, M-DL-WAVES3-A, M-DL-SMADI-A, M-DL-GOPT, M-DL-GACE-A, M-DL-DXLINK, M-DL-AES cards
- Legacy 48 kHz iLive/GLD cards (M-DANTE, M-MADI2-A) via M-DL-ADAPT-A
- DX expanders on the local DX port: DX32, DX168, DX164-W, DX012
- Redundant gigaACE (ports A and B) needs a DM MixRack; on a CDM MixRack use port A only

Forefront Tip
Order the second MPS-16 PSU with the desk and run two gigaACE cables to a DM48 or DM64. That gives you power and link redundancy end to end, which a CDM MixRack can't match because it has a single gigaACE port and integrated PSU.
