Overview
The CDM48 is the mid size C Class MixRack, and like every dLive MixRack it is the mix engine itself: the XCVI FPGA core runs 128 input channels and 64 mixes at 96 kHz with full processing on everything. On the front are 48 recallable mic/line preamps and 24 XLR line outputs, so on most gigs it is the stage box as well.
C Class racks trade the S Class redundancy and extra card slots for a smaller, lighter frame: there is one I/O port, a single gigaACE surface port, two DX ports and an integrated PSU. It pairs with any dLive surface, or runs surfaceless from dLive Director and IP controllers.
Highlights
- Full dLive engine: 128 inputs, 64 mixes, 96 kHz
- 48 mic/line inputs, 24 line outputs
- 1 x 128 channel I/O port
- 16 RackExtra FX with stereo returns; RackUltra FX card upgrade available
- 2 DX ports for up to 4 DX expanders
- Dedicated ME port for personal monitoring
- 7U, integrated PSU
Compatibility
Works with all dLive surfaces: C1500, C2500, C3500 and S3000, S5000, S7000, plus IP controllers and dLive Director with no surface at all. A CDM MixRack runs up to 2 surfaces in Multi Surface mode. S Class surfaces connect on gigaACE port A only, as the CDM has a single gigaACE port.
- 1 I/O port: M-DL-DANT64-AX, M-DL-DANT128-AX, M-DL-WAVES3-A, M-DL-SMADI-A, M-DL-GOPT, M-DL-GACE-A, M-DL-DXLINK, M-DL-AES cards, or M-DL-ADAPT-A for M-DANTE / M-MADI2-A
- DX ports: DX32, DX168, DX164-W, DX012, DX88-P
- ME port: ME-1, ME-500, ME-U personal mixing (40 channels)
- Network: IP1, IP6, IP8, GPIO, CC-7, CC-10

Forefront Tip
With only one I/O port, decide early what it is for. Dante (M-DL-DANT64-AX) covers recording and DT expanders; if you also need a monitor split, put a gigaACE or Dante card in the surface instead, or step up to a DM48 with three ports.
