Overview
The DX012 is a 1U output expander for when you need more sends than inputs: 12 XLR outputs on a single Cat5e run, ideal for amp racks, delay speakers, broadcast feeds or a monitor world. Outputs 5 to 12 switch between balanced relay protected analogue and stereo AES3 digital, so one box can feed analogue amps and AES capable processors at the same time.
Three layouts are available: 12 analogue, 8 analogue plus 4 stereo AES, or 4 analogue plus 8 stereo AES (up to 20 channels). The AES outputs are switchable globally to 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96kHz to suit the receiving device. Redundant and cascade operation work as on the other DX expanders.

Compatibility
Works with any Allen & Heath DX port, direct or through a DX Hub, DX Link card or GX4816: Each DX port carries 32 x 32 channels at 96kHz and takes up to 2 cascaded DX expanders. It is not compatible with legacy dSNAKE ports (GLD, 48kHz Qu-16/24/32/Pac/SB) or CQ mixers.

Feeding AES into a processor or amp running its own clock? Set the DX012 AES rate to match the receiving device and let it handle sample rate conversion at the input, or lock the whole system at 96kHz where the amps support it.
