Overview
The AHM-16 brings Allen & Heath's AHM processing to smaller jobs in a 1U box. It has a 16 x 16 matrix with configurable processing on all 16 outputs, 8 mic/line inputs and 8 relay protected line outputs on Phoenix, and an I/O port for one SQ style networking card up to 128 x 128. It is well suited to small churches, school halls and classrooms, corporate meeting rooms, cafes, bars, restaurants and retail where a handful of zones and a few mics need managing properly.
Processing is the same as its bigger siblings: gate, 8-band PEQ, compressor and delay on each input; source selection, PEQ, 28-band GEQ, compressor, delay, ANC and limiter on each zone; and speaker processing with crossovers and all-pass filters. A 16 channel automatic mic mixer runs gain sharing or NOM, with priority ducking for paging.
The front panel has a screen, navigation and 4 SoftKeys, and the unit stores 4 user profiles. Setup is in AHM System Manager, with room combining, integrated stereo playback, an event scheduler, NTP and TCP/IP control with Crestron, AMX and Extron drivers.
Highlights
- 16 x 16 matrix, 96kHz FPGA core, under 1 ms analogue latency
- 8 mic/line in, 8 relay protected line out on Phoenix
- I/O port for Dante, MADI, Waves or SLink cards, up to 128 x 128
- 1 automatic mic mixer, up to 16 mic sources
- ANC, priority ducking, room combining, event scheduler
- Front panel screen and 4 SoftKeys, 4 user profiles
- 1U, 2 x 2 local GPIO plus networkable GPIO
Compatibility
Works with:
- I/O port (one card): M-SQ-DANT32 or M-SQ-DANT64 for Dante at 96kHz or 48kHz, M-SQ-MADI, M-SQ-WAVES3-A, M-SQ-SLINK-A. Not the original M-SQ-DANTE.
- With M-SQ-SLINK-A: DX168, DX164-W, DX012, DX88-P, DX32, DX-HUB, GX4816 at 96kHz; AB168, AR2412, AR84 at 48kHz. No built in SLink port.
- With a Dante card: DT168, DT164-W and DT02, DT20, DT22 interfaces.
- Control: IP1, IP6, IP8, the 8 x 8 GPIO interface and CC-7 / CC-10 touch panels.
The AHM-16 does not take the processing expansion module, so AEC and FBS are not available. For echo cancelling, choose the AHM-32 with M-AHM-32-AX. Requires AHM firmware V1.20 or later.

Forefront Tip
An M-SQ-DANT32 card is the usual pairing: it gives you Dante to ceiling speakers, a DT20 at the lectern and a DT02 for a remote zone, all on one switch. Put an IP6 by the bar or front of house so staff can change levels and sources without the software.
