Overview
The Allen & Heath SQ-6 is the middle desk in the original SQ range and for many rooms the sweet spot: 48 input channels, 36 buses and 24+1 motorised faders across six layers, with 24+1 mic preamps built in. It runs on the 96 kHz XCVI FPGA engine, so latency is very low for in ear mixes.
Local I/O covers 24+1 preamps, 14 XLR outputs, two TRS outputs and an AES out, with a 7 inch touchscreen, 16 SoftKeys and four Soft Rotaries. The SLink port and 64x64 I/O port handle stage boxes and Dante, Waves or MADI. It suits churches, schools, corporate AV, function centres, bands and hire companies.

Forefront Tip
For churches and schools with rotating volunteers, build one clean template show with labelled channels, colours and your usual monitor sends, save it to a USB stick and recall it at the start of every service. Set up SQ-MixPad on a tablet so the operator can walk the room during soundcheck.
