Overview
The Austrian Audio OC818 Live set is a pair of OC818 large diaphragm condenser microphones, engineered and made in Austria, packed with mini XLR cables, mic clips and windshields. The OC818 uses the CKR12 1 inch dual diaphragm ceramic capsule, with four polar patterns plus a programmable preset, low self-noise and the headroom to go from a whisper to very loud sources.
Because the capsules are so consistent, any OC818 is match paired with any other OC818, so the pair works straight away as a stereo set. It suits studio, broadcast and live use: drum overheads, choirs, acoustic instruments, piano and ensembles in churches, schools and venues.

Forefront Tip
For choir or drum overheads, start in cardioid as a spaced or XY pair and only change pattern if the room is fighting you. Hypercardioid helps when the foldback is loud, and omni sounds the most natural in a good room. On loud sources, engage the pad on the mic rather than turning down the preamp gain.
