Overview
The EW-DX SKM is the handheld transmitter for Sennheiser's Evolution Wireless Digital range, in the version without a mute switch. That makes it a good choice for performers and worship leaders where you never want the mic muted by accident, with the operator controlling level from the desk.
It uses the Sennheiser standard capsule interface, so you can fit the capsule that suits the voice: MMD 835, MMD 845, MMD 935, MMD 945, MMK 965 or a Neumann KK 204 or KK 205, all sold separately. With 134 dB of dynamic range there is no transmitter gain to set. The metal body, persistent E-Ink display and charging contacts make it practical for churches, bands, venues and hire stock. FFP supplies Australian legal bands and can advise which one suits your venue.

Forefront Tip
Remember the capsule is not included. For general speech and worship vocals the MMD 835 is the safe pick; for loud stages the supercardioid MMD 945 gives more rejection of wedges. If presenters need to mute themselves, order the EW-DX SKM-S instead, which has the programmable mute switch.
