Overview
The AES/EBU Input Card (XLR) gives an SD Series rack 4 stereo AES inputs, 8 channels in total. Use it to bring digital outputs from wireless receivers, playback, outboard processing or broadcast feeds straight into the rack without an extra conversion.
Sample rate conversion can be switched on per input, so sources on their own clock can still be accepted.
Highlights
- 4 stereo AES inputs (8 channels) on XLR
- SRC switchable per input, 32 kHz to 99 kHz
- 110 ohm transformer balanced inputs
- Hot pluggable
- Also compatible with 4REA4
Compatibility
Works with: DiGiCo SD-Rack (14 slots, 10RU), SD-MiNi Rack (4 slots, 4RU) and SD-Nano Rack (2 slots, 2RU), in both MADI and Optocore (HMA, opticalCON, ST) frames. The rack then connects to SD12, S21, S31, Quantum 225, Quantum 326 and Quantum 338 consoles over MADI (console BNC ports or a DMI-MADI-B card) or over an Optocore loop.
In an SD-Rack this card goes in one of the seven input slots (input and I/O cards share the input side). In an SD-MiNi or SD-Nano it can go in any slot.

Forefront Tip
If the source and the DiGiCo system share a clock, turn SRC off on that input for the cleanest path. Leave SRC on for anything free running, such as wireless receivers without word clock.
