Overview
This card provides 4 stereo AES inputs and 4 stereo AES outputs on BNC connectors, using the AES3id format over 75 ohm coax. AES3id runs much further than AES on XLR and suits broadcast and video facilities where BNC and coax are already the standard.
Sample rate conversion is available on inputs and outputs.
Highlights
- 4 stereo AES in and 4 stereo AES out (8 x 8 channels)
- BNC connectors for 75 ohm coax (AES3id)
- SRC on inputs and outputs, switchable per port
- Hot pluggable
- Also compatible with 4REA4
Compatibility
Works with: DiGiCo SD-Rack (14 slots, 10RU), SD-MiNi Rack (4 slots, 4RU) and SD-Nano Rack (2 slots, 2RU), in both MADI and Optocore (HMA, opticalCON, ST) frames. The rack then connects to SD12, S21, S31, Quantum 225, Quantum 326 and Quantum 338 consoles over MADI (console BNC ports or a DMI-MADI-B card) or over an Optocore loop.
In an SD-Rack this card goes in one of the seven input slots (input and I/O cards share the input side). In an SD-MiNi or SD-Nano it can go in any slot.

Forefront Tip
In an SD-Rack an I/O card uses an input slot but gives you outputs as well, so a rack full of I/O cards trades away output slots. Use the XLR version (MODSDRAESIO) if your AES gear is on XLR.
Forefront Productions is an authorised DiGiCo dealer in Newcastle NSW. We ship Australia wide and can help you spec the full rack.
