Overview
The AES/EBU Output Card gives an SD Series rack 4 stereo AES outputs, 8 channels in total. It is the usual way to send a digital feed from the stage rack to amplifiers, speaker processors, broadcast or recording without going back through analogue.
Limited sample rate conversion can be switched per output.
Highlights
- 4 stereo AES outputs (8 channels) on XLR
- Fits an SD-Rack output slot, leaving input slots free
- 110 ohm transformer balanced
- Hot pluggable
- Also compatible with 4REA4
Compatibility
Works with: DiGiCo SD-Rack (14 slots, 10RU), SD-MiNi Rack (4 slots, 4RU) and SD-Nano Rack (2 slots, 2RU), in both MADI and Optocore (HMA, opticalCON, ST) frames. The rack then connects to SD12, S21, S31, Quantum 225, Quantum 326 and Quantum 338 consoles over MADI (console BNC ports or a DMI-MADI-B card) or over an Optocore loop.
In an SD-Rack this card must go in one of the seven output slots. In an SD-MiNi or SD-Nano it can go in any slot.

Forefront Tip
Clock the amps or processors from the AES stream or from house word clock so the whole system shares one reference. Pair with the AES Input card (MODSDRAESI) if you need returns.
