Overview
The HD-SDI card takes an SDI video feed into a DiGiCo SD rack, de-embeds the audio, then re-embeds any 8 of the 16 embedded AES3 channels on the way out. It handles SD, HD and 3G SDI and is transparent to Dolby E and D data.
Five BNCs give SDI in, a re-clocked thru, two identical embedded outputs and a 48 kHz word clock derived from the SDI stream.
Highlights
- De-embeds and re-embeds 8 of 16 SDI audio channels
- SD, HD and 3G SDI
- Built in SRC for 48 kHz and 96 kHz systems
- Transparent to Dolby E and D
- 5 BNC: in, thru, 2 outputs, word clock out
Compatibility
Works with: DiGiCo SD-Rack (14 slots, 10RU), SD-MiNi Rack (4 slots, 4RU) and SD-Nano Rack (2 slots, 2RU), in both MADI and Optocore (HMA, opticalCON, ST) frames. The rack then connects to SD12, S21, S31, Quantum 225, Quantum 326 and Quantum 338 consoles over MADI (console BNC ports or a DMI-MADI-B card) or over an Optocore loop.
In an SD-Rack this card goes in one of the seven input slots (input and I/O cards share the input side). In an SD-MiNi or SD-Nano it can go in any slot.

Forefront Tip
The word clock output follows the video, so it is a handy way to lock the DiGiCo system to house video sync in a broadcast truck or venue.
Forefront Productions is an authorised DiGiCo dealer in Newcastle NSW. We ship Australia wide and can help you spec the full rack.
