Overview
This upgrade converts a MADI only DiGiCo SD-Rack into an Optocore rack with HMA 2 bidirectional dual connector. Once fitted, the rack joins the DiGiCo Optocore loop, the redundant fibre ring that links Optocore equipped SD and Quantum consoles with their stage racks.
Optocore lets you run long fibre between stage and FOH, share racks between consoles on the same loop and keep running if one fibre path is cut.
Highlights
- Adds Optocore fibre connectivity to an SD-Rack MADI frame
- HMA 2 bidirectional dual connector
- Redundant ring loop, up to 14 racks per loop
- MultiMode, with SingleMode available as an option
- MADI ports stay available alongside the optics
Compatibility
Fits: DiGiCo SD-Rack MADI frame (SDRACK), converting it to an Optocore rack.
Connects to: the DiGiCo Optocore loop, a redundant fibre ring shared with Optocore equipped consoles (Optocore is a factory fit option on SD9, SD12, Quantum 225, Quantum 326 and Quantum 338), other Optocore racks (SD-Rack, SD-MiNi, SD-Nano, D-Rack) and an Orange Box fitted with a DMI-OPTO card. Up to 14 racks on a single loop or 28 on a dual loop. SD-Rack Optocore IDs run from 11 to 24, at 1G or 2G fibre speed.
All devices on the loop must run the same Optocore firmware.

Forefront Tip
Match the connector to your console and fibre drums. Mixing HMA, opticalCON and ST on one loop means carrying adaptor tails. Set every device to the same fibre speed and give each rack a unique Optocore ID before you power up the loop.
