Overview
The GPIO interface links an Allen & Heath dLive, Avantis or AHM system to the rest of a building or show: fire alarm mutes, push to talk buttons, door contacts, cue lights, on air signs and third party control systems. It provides 8 opto isolated inputs and 8 normally open relay outputs, one of which can be set normally closed, plus two 10V outputs for powering LEDs or simple switches.
It connects over Cat5 to the AHM, Avantis, dLive MixRack or Surface, either direct or through a 100Mb network switch, and runs from PoE (802.3af). Logic is set up in AHM System Manager, Avantis Director or on the mixer, or in dLive Director or on the Surface. Up to 8 GPIO units can join one system.
Highlights
- 8 opto isolated inputs
- 8 N/O relay outputs (one configurable N/C)
- 2 x 10V outputs, 500mA max
- Phoenix connectors throughout
- PoE 802.3af over Cat5, up to 100 m
- Half width 1U, up to 8 per system
Compatibility
Works with: Allen & Heath dLive MixRack or Surface (firmware V1.6 or later), Avantis and Avantis Solo, and AHM-16, AHM-32 and AHM-64 matrix processors, connected directly or through a network switch. Up to 8 GPIO units per system. Not supported on SQ, Qu or CQ.

Forefront Tip
Wire the fire alarm interface relay to a GPIO input and use it to mute the PA zones, then test it with the fire contractor before handover. Rack it with a DX Hub using the FULLU-RK19 kit.
