Overview
The Qi12S is the compact subwoofer in Quest's Qi Series, designed to add real low end to Qi5, Qi25, Qi8, Qi10 and Qi12 systems in bars, restaurants, function rooms, churches and small live venues. A 12 inch long-excursion driver sits in a hybrid horn-loaded enclosure, which gets more output and deeper extension out of a cabinet that is only 350 mm high, so it can go under a stage, inside joinery, behind a bar or up in a ceiling cavity.
It is an 8 ohm, 300 W RMS design with 95 dB sensitivity and 126 dB maximum SPL, covering 42 Hz to 200 Hz. In practice one Qi12S will underpin a pair of Qi8 or Qi25 in a medium room for DJs and live bands, and two will handle a larger function space. Quest QXD amplifiers carry dedicated presets for the Qi12S and the matching top boxes, so crossover, alignment and limiting are handled for you.
The cabinet is marine plywood with a polyurea coating and an aluminium grille backed with acoustic fabric, finished in black (RAL 9004). Connection is Euroblock in and thru. There are no brackets for this model; it is intended for floor, shelf or concealed mounting, and at 21.4 kg it sits happily where you put it. For bigger rooms, step up to the Qi18S.
