What is included in each option
- Up to 50 m², 2 speakers: 2 x MX6C ceiling speaker, 1 x amplifier (QX4300 standard, or QXD-1K DSP), 30 m Eurocable 2 x 1.5 mm² speaker cable.
- 50 to 100 m², 4 speakers: 4 x MX6C ceiling speaker, 1 x amplifier (QX4300 standard, or QXD-1K DSP), 1 x 100 m roll Australian Monitor ATC8050 2 x 1.5 mm² speaker cable.
- 100 to 200 m², 8 speakers: 8 x MX6C ceiling speaker, 1 x amplifier (QX4300 standard, or QXD-2K DSP), 1 x 100 m roll ATC8050 2 x 1.5 mm² speaker cable.
- 200 to 350 m², 12 speakers: 12 x MX6C ceiling speaker, 1 x amplifier (QX4300 standard, or QXD-2K DSP), 2 x 100 m rolls ATC8050 2 x 1.5 mm² speaker cable.
Every speaker comes in your chosen colour, white or black. Mounting hardware for suspended tile ceilings (QRAILKIT6) is not included.
Overview
A complete Quest MX ceiling speaker package for foyers, receptions, cafés, retail floors and corridors. Choose your floor area, amplifier and colour, and you get the right number of MX6C ceiling speakers, a Quest amplifier and the speaker cable to wire them on a 100V line.
Each MX6C pairs a 6 inch woofer with a 1 inch dome tweeter and spreads sound in a 130 degree cone, so at a 3.0 m ceiling one speaker covers about 30 m² of floor. Spreading several speakers across the ceiling gives even background music and clear announcements at a comfortable level everywhere in the space, instead of one loud corner near the counter. The rimless magnetic grille comes in white or black to suit the ceiling.

Choosing an amplifier
- Standard amp, QX4300 (no DSP): a straightforward 4 channel 1RU power amplifier with front panel volume, 80 Hz high pass, 100 Hz low pass and limiter switches on every channel. Set it once and leave it.
- DSP amp with speaker protection (QXD-1K or QXD-2K): the QXD-1K or QXD-2K adds 32 bit, 96 kHz DSP with FIR and IIR filters, peak and RMS limiters, delay and Quest speaker presets, plus network control over RJ45 and GPIO. It keeps the speakers protected and lets the installer tune the room. At the two smaller sizes the DSP package also costs less.
With either amplifier, channels 3 and 4 are left free for the Quest Foyer Subwoofer Add-on if you want more low end for music.
Sizing
Sizes are designed for a 3.0 m ceiling. For a lower 2.7 m ceiling each speaker covers less floor, so choose the next size up. Higher ceilings up to about 4 m spread each speaker wider, giving you spare coverage.
Installation notes
- Each MX6C needs a 254 mm cut-out and comes with its grille, cut-out tool, cable restraint and a spare LTMXC locking tab. It has a safety cable attachment point.
- For suspended tile ceilings, add a QRAILKIT6 ceiling tile mounting kit per speaker. These are not included and are available separately.
- The included cable is standard PVC sheathed 2 x 1.5 mm² speaker cable (the Eurocable jacket is flame retardant PVC). It is not LSZH or fire rated. If your building requires LSZH or fire rated cable, ask us and we will swap it.
- No music player, mixer or paging microphone is included. The amplifier takes balanced line level inputs on Euroblock connectors.
