Overview
A complete Quest MX pendant speaker package for foyers, receptions, cafés, retail spaces and corridors with open or high ceilings, where flush ceiling speakers are not an option. Quest MX6P two way pendant speakers hang from the structure and run on a 100V line, so they daisy chain across the room on one cable run without impedance calculations. A Quest amplifier drives the system and the speaker cable is included. Pick the size that matches your floor area, then choose the amplifier and the colour.
What is included in each option
Every package includes the pendant speakers, one amplifier and the speaker cable. The Standard amp option is a Quest QX4300 (no DSP). The DSP amp option is a Quest QXD-1K or QXD-2K, depending on the size. The colour option sets the speaker colour; the amplifier and cable are the same for white and black.

- 200 to 350 m², 8 speakers: 8x MX6P pendant speakers, 1x QX4300 or 1x QXD-2K amplifier, 2x 100 m rolls of ATC8050 2 x 1.5 mm² speaker cable
Suspension hardware and ceiling fixings are not included (see the Forefront Tip below).
Coverage and ceiling height
Each MX6P spreads sound over a 130 degree cone, so at a hanging height of about 3.5 m one speaker covers roughly 49 m² of floor at an even level. The packages are sized for a 3.0 m ceiling with the pendants hung at 3.5 m in higher spaces. If your speakers will hang lower, for example under a 2.7 m ceiling, choose the next size up so the coverage still meets at ear height.
Choosing the amplifier
- Standard amp, QX4300 (no DSP): four channels of 240 W at 100V with front panel 80 Hz high pass and 100 Hz low pass switches and a limiter. Simple to set up: wire it, set the levels and it is done.
- DSP amp with speaker protection: a Quest QXD-1K for the two smaller sizes, or a QXD-2K for the two larger sizes. 32 bit, 96 kHz DSP with FIR and IIR filters, delay, Quest speaker presets and peak and RMS limiters that stop staff or a loud playlist from overdriving the speakers. Set up and adjusted over the network.
Speakers run at the 20 W tap and the amplifier keeps at least 100% headroom in every configuration. Amplifier channels 3 and 4 are left free, so the Quest Foyer Subwoofer Add-on suits either amplifier option when you want more low end for music.

About the cable
The Eurocable in the smallest package has a polyurethane (PUR) jacket, and the Australian Monitor ATC8050 in the larger packages has a PVC jacket. Neither cable is fire rated or low smoke zero halogen. If your building or fire engineer calls for LSZH or fire rated cable, ask us and we will quote it.
Forefront Tip
The MX6P comes with a top hat and a safety cable attachment point, but Quest does not list a suspension cable or hanging kit, so allow for one to suit your ceiling structure and we can quote it with the package. Hang the speakers on a grid about 7 m apart at around 3.5 m, and tell us your actual cable runs when you order so we can adjust the cable to suit.
