Overview
The DiGiCo Quantum 225 DS is the dual-screen version of the Quantum 225, built for engineers who want more of the show in front of them at once. Where the standard 225 fits a bracket on its left side for a laptop or KLANG:kontroller, the 225 DS replaces it with a second 17 inch, 1000-nit multitouch screen, complete with its own meter bridge and soft quick-select buttons. Each bank of 12 faders now has a screen directly above it, so one screen can hold channel processing while the other shows the full input list, a monitor mix or a bank of macros.
In practice that means less paging and fewer taps mid-show, which festival engineers, theatre operators and busy church teams notice first. Existing Quantum 225 owners can have their console upgraded to 225 DS specification.
Highlights
- Two 17 inch 1000-nit multitouch screens, each with meter bridge and quick-select keys
- A screen above each bank of 12 faders, so channels, meters and macros are always in view
- 72 input channels, 36 busses and a 12 x 12 matrix, expandable to 96 channels and 48 busses with Pulse
- Seventh-generation FPGA Quantum engine at 96 kHz with 1 ms latency
- 25 motorised touch-sensitive faders and 41 TFT displays
- Mustard Processing, Spice Rack, Nodal Processing and True Solo included
- Four MADI ports, two DMI slots, built-in UB MADI, optional Optocore, Waves and Fourier integration
- Same 1124 mm footprint as the Quantum 225, with a hardware upgrade path for existing 225 owners
Under the hood
The engine is the same Quantum 225 architecture Australian engineers already trust: three seventh-generation FPGAs delivering 72 full-processing input channels, 36 aux or group busses and a 12 by 12 matrix at 96 kHz with 1 ms latency. Mustard Processing, Spice Rack, Nodal Processing and True Solo are standard. The optional Pulse upgrade takes it to 96 channels, 48 busses and 36 Mustard strips and adds Mix Minus, and the T option adds theatre features such as a larger matrix and cue-based workflow.
I/O and connectivity
Local I/O covers 8 mic/line inputs, 8 line outputs and 4 channels of AES, with four BNC MADI ports, a built-in 48-channel UB MADI USB recorder and two DMI slots for Dante, AVB, Hydra 2, KLANG or Waves. Optional Optocore, Waves SoundGrid and Fourier Audio integration are available, all backed by dual power supplies.
This listing is for the Quantum 225 DS console with built-in MADI connectivity. Rack packages with the DQ-Rack (Dante) or MQ-Rack (MADI) are listed separately. Forefront Productions can demo, install and support the Quantum 225 DS for venues, churches and production companies across Australia.
